Wildly Delicious.

Rua supplies vegan and gluten-free treats to people all across Ireland. It was born from a dream to bring healthy, wholesome food to a world too busy to cook.

In Irish, the word Rua means red-haired, usually when referring to an animal. There is a wildness suggested by the name and they incorporate that into their food using natural, raw, and whole foods ingredients.

Task:

As Rua was beginning to grow it needed a cohesive brand identity to bring its family of products together. Their online presence also needed a fresh look to compete with other DTC brands.

Approach:

All of Rua’s products are made by a team of hard working women in Dublin. Their approach to making this food is always natural, fresh and wholesome. The feeling you get from your local bakery. This warm and local approach set the tone for the brand. We used a warm colour palette, delicious food photography and a system of badges and typography to tell the brands story.

Scope:

Brand Identity, Packaging, Photography, Web Design.

At the centre of the Rua brand is Cookie Girl. She needed a new lease of life and a more modern look. We worked with illustrator Rob Gavin to bring her to life. The result was a cheeky, busy, friendly character that never goes anywhere without her best friend.

With the large expense associated with custom packaging, a decision was made to stick with off the shelf craft boxes. We created a colour coded labelling system to represent each of the products. This resulted in an affordable and colourful product line up.
